At Siam Baptist Church we are excited to offer the opportunity for children to participate in music through our children’s choir.  Our children’s choir is for school-aged children and meets on Sunday evenings from 6 – 7 p.m.  This ministry gives children the opportunity to develop musical skills, along with creative movement and drama.  The choir performs two musicals each year: one musical at Christmas and another one in the spring.  Special performances are sometimes done for special events.  In addition, the children will occasionally provide special music for the Sunday morning worship hour.

The musicals the choir performs always teach Biblical principles and may focus on Bible characters.  Some of the favorite musicals they have performed include “Go, Go, Jonah,” “Good Kings Come in Small Packages” (the story of King Josiah), “The Tale of Three Trees,” “Christmas in Egypt,” “The Christmas Express,” and “The 50th Annual Polk County Picnic” (the story of the prodigal son).  Following each musical, the kids are rewarded for all their hard work with a special outing/field trip.  We visit local trampoline parks, swimming pools, and roller- skating facilities.  Also, we have visited the Polar Express train ride in North Carolina and Pigeon Forge Snow, a year-round indoor snow tubing facility.  Additionally, each child’s birthday is celebrated during a special session each month.
